Description of Tide of Iron - Campaign Expansion Normandy

June 6th, 1944 marked a red-letter date in the Second World War. Better known as D-Day, the 6th marked the beginning of Operation Overlord, the Allied battle plan coordinating a major offensive against German forces at Normandy, France. Here, at the beaches of Normandy, the Allies would either gain the foothold they needed to bring down the German war machine, or suffer a devastating defeat.
The Normandy campaign expansion expands Tide of Iron by allowing players to recreate Allied beach landings against fortified German defences. Players can also push past the beaches into the bocage, where soldiers fight in the dense hedgerows of the countryside.
Normandy includes a complement of British forces, four new armoured units, eight scenarios including four linked campaign scenarios in which one player assumes the continuing role of the 29th Infantry Division, and over 100 new cards including a new Weather deck that forces players to be more flexible with their strategies as the weather changes from turn to turn.
